Global Food Prices Rise

(First written 2021)
Post Brexit, our self-sufficiency and our farmgate prices went up and there was a big chance of a monumental return of our industries; there still is that chance with the right policies. All this Government had to do was keep it going but, no, they are choosing to destroy it. Due to farmgate prices still being perceived as fair, it is too easy to ignore what is really happening.

High costs are being transferred to the British farmer and the public. There is now a big move to manipulate British farming to suit world contracts. A ‘Remain’ situation would be worse. EU imports and many crisis moments were putting our farmers out of business, and they too have signed up to world agendas which are destroying sustainable farming.

People say, “Why should I buy British? British is so expensive. Why should I keep our British farmers going?”

Buying British keeps our food supply affordable. Once our British farms and fisheries are reduced – which they are already now – world imports can become expensive raising the cost of your food bill. It is very difficult to convert trees, for example, back to farmland; it takes years.

If this Government alters the way we farm (which it is doing now), increases cost to produce on tick box green agenda and prevents manure spreading, our yields will go down because farmers simply won’t plant enough and once again your food bill goes up.

If we allow these policies to diminish our British farms and fisheries, we play into the hands of big pharma as we would have to live off the rise of lab-based meat and vertical farming. The countryside will be built on, rewilded, full of trees, wind turbines and solar panels. Our seas will be full of turbines with no fishing.

If we do not act now, then it will be too late and believe us when we say that, quite frankly, anything is possible when this Government is following the world agenda. We now have the power to make our own laws to safeguard our interests.

In the beginning, we were cashing in on foreign investment which reduced our farms but what happens when we are reduced to asking around for food and a disagreement could see us starved out?

We in the Alliance for Democracy and Freedom are here because we have seen the utter destruction of British farming and British fishing. We want to assure sustainable food supply by prioritising the British farming and fishing industries. The Alliance for Democracy and Freedom wants to ensure the British people have enough affordable food reserves. A thriving domestic food production can be supplemented by importing food we do not produce here.

Lobbying groups are limited in their effectiveness and it takes getting into the heart of politics to right the wrongs. We are firmly on the side of our people, ensuring they can afford to enjoy British food, the quality of which is second-to-none!

There is not a single political party in Westminster championing our industries and our people. Our government is paralysing us

It is time for politics on the side of British people and British industries, to come together and realise our fullest potential.

Join Alliance for Democracy and Freedom and put our people and our country first!
